KALAMAZOO, Mich.—It’s no joke; on April Fool’s Day, Kalamazoo Public Library will begin offering non-residents $10 monthly passes to its digital lab.
The library decided to open up its lab to outsiders based on demand. The lab, dubbed The Hub, features hardware and software to digitize and edit photos and videos; preserve old LPs, cassettes or VHS tapes; produce podcasts, videos, music and animations. A complete list of services provided by The Hub is available on the library’s website.
Kalamazoo Public Library opened The Hub in May 2014. The lab is free to resident patrons.
