KDPS is investigating two armed robberies that occurred within 22 minutes of each other early Saturday morning, October 27th, 2012.

The first robbery occurred at 3:14 a.m. in the 800 block of W. Walnut. The victims, ages 22 and 20, were approached by two suspects.  One of the suspects was in possession of a shotgun and the other suspect had a handgun.  After taking the victims money and cell phone the suspects fled west towards Davis Street.  Suspect # 1 is described as being a black male in his late teens to early twenties.  He is approximately 6’, thin build, and was wearing a dark colored jacket with a fur lined hood.  On the back of the jacket was a Detroit Tigers “D’.  Suspect # 2 is described as a black male, same age, approximately 5’6” tall, wearing a dark colored jacket and blue jeans.

The second robbery occurred in the 1000 block of Interfaith Boulevard at 3:36 a.m..  The two victims ages 31 and 21 were approached by five black males.  The suspects pistol-whipped the 21 year old female and stole the victims’ cell phone and money.  The suspects are described as all black males wearing a zip-up style jacket or hoodie that were dark colored.  Two of the suspects were described as being between 6’ and 6’2” tall while the other three suspects were described as being shorter.  All were in their late teens and appeared young to the victims.  One suspect was in possession of a long gun while the remaining four suspects were said to all have handguns.

In both cases, a K-9 unit attempted a track of the suspects but it is believed that the suspects got into an unknown style car parked a short distance away from the scene.
