FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

On 3/6/12 at approximately 7 pm, information was received on the possible whereabouts of a federal fugitive wanted for the 2009 Bank Robbery of the National City Bank in the 4000 block of Stadium Drive.  Kalamazoo Public Safety Detectives were able to determine the location of the fugitive and worked in conjunction with KVET and Operations Officers to conduct surveillance.

The suspect was believed to be walking in the 1400 block of Princeton Street. Public Safety Officer Tim Knight attempted to make a police-citizen contact with the fugitive, who fled on foot.  Officer Knight, who recognized the subject as the fugitive, took chase.  After a brief struggle the fugitive was subdued and placed under arrest.  She was also found to be in possession of a hand gun.

The fugitive is identified Miranda Dixon, 27 year old resident of Detroit.  She was turned over to the FBI and was arraigned today on the federal warrant and will be facing additional charges.
