Man charged with Kalamazoo teen's murder
KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WZZM) -- A man has been charged with open murder in the case of a Kalamazoo teenager killed in a domestic violence incident earlier this week.
Officers were called to a home in the 1400 block of Lane Blvd. around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday on a report that a person had been shot. Responding officers found Temetrion Hegler, 17, on the floor of the home, dead of a gunshot wound.
Investigators accuse Hegler's step-grandfather, 53-year-old Bruce Embry, of shooting him. The two both lived in the home where the shooting happened.
Officers arrested Embry without incident and took him to the Kalamazoo County Jail. He's been arraigned on felony firearm and being a felon in possession of a firearm charges, in addition to the murder count.
